![]() And, there's nothing you can do about it. What if I wanted to use the headset on my phone or PC, without the Xbox being turned on? Turning on the headset will automatically turn on your Xbox and turn off if you turn off your Xbox. It's also maddeningly irritating that the headset's on/off states are bound to the paired Xbox's on/off states. If you pair it via your mobile phone's Bluetooth wizard, you may find that the app doesn't connect, unless you pair via the app first. The mobile app can be a little quirky when it comes to connecting, at least on my Samsung Galaxy Note 20. There's little bad to say about the Stealth 700, but I did experience a few hiccups with them here and there. What I disliked about the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Turtle Beach prioritized quality where it matters most, though, with thick, airy cup cushions, and a comfortable inner cushion across the headband. The headset sports a metal headband on the interior, though, which should help it remain sturdy even if the plastics on the outside aren't of the highest-grade. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 has decent construction overall, but it does feel like some compromises were made in this area regarding material quality. The headset also has built-in voice feedback for each function press and a convenient flip-to-mute microphone that neatly tucks itself away when it's not in use. On the cups, each button and dial feels different to the touch, making it very easy to learn where everything is without looking. Pairing with Bluetooth or Xbox Wireless is as simple as holding a button, and thankfully, the signals don't interfere with each other, with is an annoyance I often run into with these types of headsets. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 has on-ear controls to help you manage the headset's volume mix between chat and gameplay, with two separate pairing buttons for Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless. Still, it's useful for content creators and video game streamers who want a headset that can feed audio from a connected Xbox and pick up voice communication on Discord on a connected PC or phone, for example, without having to sacrifice one for the other. Many might be wondering why you might want Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless in a single headset. Again, connectivity in all aspects was stupid simple and a breeze.Turtle Beach Stealth 700 2020 Review (Image credit: Windows Central) Remarkably, the app is easy to set up and instantly changes the settings on your headset whenever you want. While I found myself using the headsets factory default settings, I did enjoy playing around with the app. Bass and Turtle Beach’s trademark Superhuman Hearing Mode can all be adjusted via the Turtle Beach Audio Hub app. The audio comes through crystal clear with no lag or latency issues. Clear highs and rich lows are the name of the game while the bass can pack a punch. The Pro features 50mm Nanoclear neodymium drivers that deliver crystal clear sounds. So how do they sound? Just like other Stealth headsets, they sound wonderful. I did not experience any lag, mysterious power issues or any sound popping. I should also mention the connection was strong. Connectivity was instant as it recognized my headset soon after everything was powered on. Simply plug in the included wireless USB transmitter into the Xbox (yes the one that also charges the spare battery) and turn on the headset. Not a huge deal breaker by any means but just something I noticed after an hour or two of gaming.Ĭonnectivity is a breeze. Just like other Stealth headsets, it is glasses friendly but my ears did get warm over extended gaming sessions. Not to mention, I do love how quickly it recharges as a quick 15-minute charge delivers three hours of battery life. While one battery remains in your headset, the other one is charging on the transmitter that is plugged into the Xbox. Sure, having to physically get my ass up to swap out the battery is a bit of a nuisance but Turtle Beach has made the process so easy and simple, it literally takes 30 seconds to make the swap. The Stealth Pro has a neat little feature that I absolutely love as it includes two swappable 12-hour battery packs that essentially provide continuous power. Yet those are pretty much the only two drawbacks with one of them not really being an issue, at all. At $329.99 usd, this makes the Stealth Pro one of the more expensive gaming headsets on the market. On the surface, the battery life doesn’t even come close to the battery life of the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max. I will say, it’s not all rainbows and unicorns for the Stealth Pro.
